WhosYourMRXHero

Hello readers! From Monday 13th to Friday 17th next week, we are putting together a little treat for the Market Research industry. We’ve interviewed 5 Market Research Heroes and Heroines who we admire, for reasons we will reveal when we publish one interview a day for #MRXHero week, all next week.

The #MRX Heroes haven’t been nominated publicly. The 5 people we’ve interviewed are people who I personally deem as some of the key voices in our industry, and whom my Twitter feed would look very different without. But you can, and should nominate your own #MRXHero by emailing us with your nomination on rtg@researchthroughgaming.com with #MRXHero Nomination in the subject heading so that we can place them in the limelight and interview them in order to share their story with the world.

Is your Market Research Hero or Heroine an innovator but rarely gets a mention? Are they a mentor of yours who have shaped your research career? Are they a fantastic employee to work with? Or are they simply brilliant researchers who really care about their work day in, day out and make clients happy? Whatever your reason, we want to hear about your Market Research Hero or Heroine.

David Wiszniowski, our Research Analyst intern had the pleasure of interviewing these 5 thought-leaders as part of his internship here with Research Through Gaming while the graphic art was carried out by yours truly. The interviews themselves are 100% from the #MRXHeros, so expect to see some thought-provoking and honest content!

Why did we want to carry out an #MRXHeroes week?

When I decided to run an #MRXHeroes week, I was trying to kill many birds with one stone, although I realise that’s not the best analogy. I wanted to celebrate the people I look up to in the research industry, and whom I have looked up to for a long time and respected, although maybe our chosen #MRXHeroes had no idea of it. I can imagine it might be a little bit strange to suddenly get an email from us saying “You’re a Research Hero!” but it is important to celebrate the companies and the individuals who make our industry evolve the way it does. Without diminishing the importance of the 5 #MRXheroes we have this week, I think it’s important to note I have lot’s of research heroes and non-research heroes who’ve shaped my career. There are individuals and companies in Gaming I look up to, academics who are mentors to me and people who work in the field of child learning development who have made me produce better work, and better writing. So I looked back on when I first started in research; who were the people that stood out then and still stand out now? Who are those people that I’ve consistently admired? (even if their work has no direct impact on me, our #MRXHeroes this week are pretty remarkable individuals). I also wanted our intern, David Wiszniowski, a really interesting, funny and impressive researcher himself, to have a chance to speak to these 5 thought-leaders in research.

So who are these 5 people we’ve interviewed? All will be revealed next week!
